Post Title: A day of disconnect
By johngriffin0928, Feed Name: Forever Learning
Preview: There are times when all of us need to disconnect ourselves from the rest of the world, take a breather and spend a little time alone. I can do that in crowds, and it’s no problem tuning out the outside world. I especially like to do it while flying, which is what I did a [...]

Post Title: Reflecting on Stephen Downe's presentation
By Betty Hurley-Dasgupta, Feed Name: Creativity and Multicultural Communication
Preview: #cmc11 I'm still thinking about Stephen Downe's discussion about connectivism. He certainly uses terminology differently than I've sued it previously. But, what he says makes lots of sense. Think of learning a language- one can memorize words, but, unless someone has made the connections through immersion, one can understand very little from a real conversation. I mentioned my ....

Let’s get to the damn point!  Here are the places I have lived: Central New Jersey (1974 – 1986) Brooklyn, NY (1986 – 1991) Miami, FL (1991 – 1999) Honolulu, HI (1999 – 2008) Jersey City, NJ (2008-2009) New York, NY (October 2009 – present) Moving had become a constant in my life by the time I [...]

Title: A brief introduction and a bit of a spark.
Preview: Hello all! My name is Aaron Quantock and am just starting at ESC this semester. I've been an upstate New Yorker most of my life, but spent a small chunk living and working south of the Boston area a while back. I've played hockey since the age of 6 and it has guided and nudged me both scholastically and professionally most of my 38 years. I live with my wife and eleven year old daughter,.......

Title: Re: Connecting to be connected? #CMC11 MOOC
Preview: Hello Omar,Not sure where your comment went... ;o( but it was nice to read that I am not the only one who feels sometimes that our own words are not the most effective way to communicate and share our thoughts with others. You mentioned poems and I would like to read some of them. Do you have a blog I could visit?

Title: Re: Connecting to be connected? #CMC11 MOOC
Preview: Hello everybody,Thank you for commenting on the photovoices and sharing your thoughts on some of the questions that are in my mind at the moment. The question linked to connecting and being connected can make as wander in different direction. One which interests me is why we feel the need or desire to be connected and what we mean by being connected. For example, when we follow somebody on ....

Title: Re: BUG: tag terms are being strung together into one word
Preview: I just realized it doesn't matter -- although visually the words are "smooshed" together, the separate taxonomy URL's (in drupalese) are functional. I had presumed that because it _looks_ like one long link that the separate tag links were messed up. I should have tried actually clicking (or even just hovering) first! So long as the links work, which they do, I am not concerned with the ....
