Lurking in MOOCdom
Hello fellow MOOCers,
I guess I am more of a lurker now although I participated in the MOOC as an ESC student two terms ago. Think I'm going to enjoy being a lurker; I like the sound of the word.
The MOOC might seem a little intimidating at first, but when Carol says to 'jump in' she does means it. You'll be encouraged to use blogs, SlideShare, RSS Readers,....

about recent announcement and CMC continuations
Google+ Hangout: takes more bandwidth than I have access to. Sure would be nice to have a transcript (text) or report (blog post). Ditto YouTube.
Continuations, China, connecting (because you can't do connectivism let alone exchange ideas about it unless you do):
Using mostly Fb because it is convenient, I suspect I've missed out on some announcements (i.e. final projects) and ....

Learning Through Music - Music's Evolving Role in Education
http://www.polyphonic.org/article.php?id=86The past decade of school reform has challenged musicians, music educators and general educators to reconsider music's role in public schools. For many musicians, the challenge is not about restoring music to its former presence in schools. It is instead about re-envisioning music's position at the core of the public school curriculum and ....

The power of Music and Creativity ... validation of life
I guess that as tough as life may get, you've always got to try and make the best of it. I also find it unfortunate that some people are so afraid to put themselves out there that it takes an extreme life threatening situation to finally get them to do so. The tragedy is in the fact that these peoples talents might never have been on display unless they completely had their backs to the ....

Creativity in a Group Setting #CMC11
I consider myself extremely fortunate for having been part of a few different creative groups where all participants felt completely safe in expressing their ideas.
One of the groups, in which I was the leader, was a bit slow in taking off, but once I made it clear that all ideas were welcome, everyone loosened up. The work we did together was some of the best in my career, and certainly the ....

Is TIM alive, or a dim memory for us now?
After listening to the session on TIM by Dr. Susan Keller-Mathers on Monday, it occurred to me that most folks think of the 3 pronged approach as purely an education model. Often, when that is the example given, we think no further than the traditional "learning in a course" mode. How many of you have already moved on to thinking about other topics? Is it possible that some of ....
